Unto the first days of a new year; 2024.
Spent a whole day with the family at Indang, Cavite wherein the place was not crowded as if we got it for ourselves. I honestly loved the idea that we only planned to go out but without specific plans on what activities to do or even having a specific place to go to. I even got to realized that I was no good at navigating google maps as we have missed turns since I was not able to direct which turns to take, during that time I was always late to say it out loud and the google map needs to re-route multiple times.
Still we ended up to a place wherein it actually fits our preference of being able to avoid heavy traffic and crowded place. It was so peaceful.
Peaceful— I meant, good food, time well spent away from all our usual routine and errands such as school works for my siblings and work for my parents and I. We were also able to enjoy our own "thing" such as painting and journaling for myself. Took lovely photos as well! And best part was, got to play monoply as initiated by our bunso, Bing. 🤍 (she won btw!)
Our January first was really a good recharge as I was also able to return to work with a fresh start. I was able to perform sessions with my students as if di ko ramdam yung pagod. My heart was definitely happy. This continued for few more days after.
One thing I also appreciate was receiving a gift from my brother. We've been talking about dressing up, improving outfit styles lately, and yep, I was taught to going back to basics. I've been receiving jeans from him which definitely was a step forward for me in embracing other styles than my usual fitted jeans and a shirt.
Tumblr media
Sagot niya one basic top from a brand I would've never buy from as a kuripot sa sarili, or probably it was still something I'm working on for myself. This time tho, I bought 2 more shirts that time alone. Thanks to my brother for encouraging. I love being reminded unconsiously to do better on treating myself other than buying myself coffee most of the time. It actually motivated me in gaining more self confidence, lalo nung nakikita ko sarili ko sa isang malaking mirror during fitting. Sakto pang may new body mirror ako since mama and dad tried to save a mirror from a vintage cabinet na inaanay, sakin na lang raw. Siempre yes na yes agad! Placed it in my room and took photos as I pair the shirts I bought with another short I got on a thrift shop with my brother few months back. Reading a message (as feedback lol) "bagay nga" was a big yey moment for me, lalo di ako usually nagsusuot ng ganung klaseng outfit dati.
Anyways...
I'm really looking forward that this year will motivate me to do more, be encouraged to better on both small and big things. Lalo na hearing mama saying, "24 ka na". It was definitely a reminder that I have to face adult life. (Scary, tbh!!!)
By the next few days; even months, I know I'm still preparing for more attempts on improvements and embracing challenges. Yes, I'm still scared, but as one of my aunties say, "It has to be done".
Good thing I found new bunch of people that could potentially be part of venturing a new journey. Sana nga nakaka-motivate rin ako para sa ibang taong nakakasalamuha ko.
For now, I'll yell for motivating myself and shoo away my negative thoughts.
Ewan ko, siguro tama rin namang mapagod sa pagiging takot na mag-stay sa comfort zone at failures na nangyari. Surely, it's happening to simply see how far we'll get.
I'm happy to share that fear is what could remind as that there are some things we still value, which potentially will help us to do better. Kaya takot, kasi may halaga at gusto kasi talaga natin mga bagay na yun.
I'll definitely get back to this, hopefully, in a way that I'm already done with just dwelling with the past and already celebrating what "attempts" of doing better has good results already. Yung masasabing may bunga na lahat, klaro na kung bakit nangyayari mga di inaasahan.
Cheers to our attempts for the past year of surviving. Let's kickstart with a fresh one—mindset ba!

And just like that the video ended. The screen turned black and the next video played, back to the clips of war propaganda and the occasional recording of Peggy, Howard Stark or Colonel Phillips.
Steve got up wordlessly from his seat in the back, his poor pamphlet crushed to a pulp in his hand.
Steve left the Smithsonian as quickly as he could without drawing attention to himself. The last thing he needed right then was to be mobbed by well-meaning fans.
His feet carried him where he needed to go without even realizing it and when he finally left the maze of his mind and looked around, he was in front of the fancy care home that Peggy lived in. Steve had learned that she’d been in and out of the hospital lots over the last ten years or so, but her family finally decided that she should live somewhere they could visit and that a hospital did no favors to her health.
Peggy had Alzheimer’s and even the best treatment in the world had done little to halt the horrific progression of the disease. Some days were worse than others, but Steve had wasted enough time these last few years.
Steve Rogers was many things, but a coward he was not.
The nurses and helpers all greeted him with friendly waves. Even a few of the patients gave him cheerful hello’s. The thing about being nearly a hundred years old was that even people who regressed back to their childhood could remember him.
He knocked quietly at her door and was relieved to see she was already awake, idly watching the TV on the wall. When she turned to look at him a bright smile lit up her heavily lined face and Steve didn’t have to hide his in return.
It was a good day, it seemed.
“Steve! I didn’t know you’d be visiting. Don’t just stand around all day, come sit,” she said, voice commanding even though she sounded weak.
Peggy always sounded weak nowadays.
“I should have given you some warning. I didn’t really think about comin’ over, it just kind of happened,” Steve said sheepishly, taking a seat in the chair beside her bed. “I woulda brought you flowers.” His Brooklyn accent always seeped out when he talked to Peggy. He was allowed to be Steve Rogers around her, not Captain America.
Peggy waved a feeble hand at him and scoffed. “I’ve never been one for flowers, Steve. You know that. My grandson just replaced them yesterday anyway. I wouldn’t have said no to a glass of scotch, though,” she said with a wink.
Steve grinned and shook his head. “No way. I don’t need Nurse Shelly comin’ after me. Not after last time.”
Peggy giggled quietly, her eyes bright. “She was rather cross with you, wasn’t she?”
Steve pretended to glare at Peggy, but he was smiling just as broadly. “It was all your idea. You told me it’d be fine!”
Peggy simply smiled that secret smile of hers. “Seeing you sing and dance was worth it. Mr. Jenson across the hall can complain all he likes. I don’t regret it one bit.”
Steve laughed and sat back in his chair. “Yeah, well, I don’t plan on being on that woman’s list again if I can help it.” There was a pause, then, “I went to the Smithsonian today.”
Peggy eyed him shrewdly. “Can’t get enough of yourself, huh? Had to go and see yourself immortalized in a National exhibit?” she asked playfully, though her eyes told him she knew what he must be feeling.
Steve smiled weakly at the playful jab. “Can’t help it if I look good in ten foot high murals.”
Peggy smiled at that, a soft laugh leaving her lips. She stared at him, though, smile leaving her face after a moment. “You looked at their memorial, didn’t you?” she asked, already knowing the answer.
Steve ducked his head guiltily but Peggy only smiled knowingly. “I’m not going to yell at you, silly man. I used to do it too, you know. Back when your name was up on that wall with the two of them.”
Steve looked back up, blue eyes immeasurably sad, but Peggy was already shaking her head. “Oh no, you don’t get to feel guilty about it now, mister. What’s done it done.”
Steve pushed his bangs out of his eyes; a nervous tick he never kicked, even after nearly seventy years on ice. He couldn’t talk about them anymore. “I met a guy the other day. He was nice. Lapped him a few times in the National Mall. He’s ex-military. Para-rescue. He works at the VA now. Name’s Sam Wilson.”
Peggy smiled at him. “He seems like a nice young man.”
Steve laughed at that choice of words. He supposed that, to him and Peggy, just about any guy was a “nice young man.”
“Yeah, I s’pose he is. He asked me to visit the VA later.”
Peggy raised a wispy eyebrow at him. “And are you going to?”
Steve smiled cheekily. “Depends. Will you get Nurse Shelly to forgive me if I do?”
Peggy chuckled at that. “I think I can manage that. It might be good to go, you know. Mr. Wilson might even encourage you to leave your house for more than missions, exercise, and visiting me.”
Steve held his hands up in a defensive manner, smile attached firmly to his face. “Woah now, don’t get too crazy there, Pegs. Next you’ll tell me I need to learn how to use dating apps.”
She laughed in earnest at that; so hard Steve was worried she’d start coughing, but it seemed that wouldn’t be a problem.
The two of them sobered, though the air was still light with the remnants of smiles and laughter. He found his gaze wandering to the bedside table which was littered with pictures and letters and get well cards from friends and family.
“You should be proud of yourself, Peggy,” he said, lip quirked up at the corner.
Peggy followed his gaze, her thin hair scratching lightly against the pillow as she turned her head to look. “Mm. I have lived a life,” she said, gaze flicking to Steve. Her expression sobered a bit and Steve knew what was coming next. “My only regret is that you didn’t get to live yours.” Steve stared down at his hands and she could tell from that slight furrow in his brow that he was thinking too hard. “What is it?” she asked, that little hint of command seeping back into her voice.
“For as long as I can remember I just wanted to do what was right.” His blue eyes flicked up to Peggy, his eyes searching hers as though she had all the answers. “I guess I’m not quite sure what that is anymore.” He paused, his eyes dropping back down as he lost himself in his thoughts. “And I thought I could throw myself back in and follow orders. Serve.” He looked back up and put on that fake smile that made Peggy want to sigh. “It’s just not the same.”
Peggy huffed out a short laugh. “Always so dramatic,” she said, rolling her eyes. Steve smiled in earnest and gave a little half shrug, looking away almost guiltily. “Look,” she said seriously, “you saved the world. “We rather... mucked it up,” she said, lips quirked upward in a smile that was closer to a grimace.
Steve shook his head. “You didn’t. Knowing you helped found SHIELD is half the reason I stay.”
She made a small noise in the back of her throat and reached for Steve’s hand. He leaned forward and let her take it and quietly lamented at how weak her grip had become. “The world has changed, and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best. And sometimes the best that we can do is to- start- over,” she gasped out, interrupted by a coughing fit.
Steve dropped her hand to scramble for the pitcher of water on the small table by the window. He returned as quickly as he could and sat back down, holding it out for her to take. He reached out with his hand to get her attention and she turned to look at him, her expression changing in a way that made his his heart sink.
Like she was seeing him for the first time in seventy years.
“Steve,” she breathed, awe in her voice.
Steve stared at her, biting back a torrent of emotions. Today had been such a good day for her. They’d been talking for close to an hour.
“Yeah,” Steve said softly.
She gasped, eyes already getting watery. “You’re alive. You came back.”
Steve swallowed thickly against the threat of tears and put on the bravest face he could manage. He was sure his smile was more of a grimace, but it was the best he could do.
“Yeah, Peggy,” he said quietly, unable to speak louder without his voice breaking.
She sniffled and shook her head slightly as she stared at him. “It’s been so long. So long,” she said, tears threatening to spill in earnest now.
Steve gave her a smile that he didn’t really feel and leaned forward, voice low. “Well I couldn’t leave my best girl. Not when she owes me a dance.”
Peggy sniffled. “Did you bring (Y/N) and James with you? I still haven’t given them their wedding present,” she asked, trying to reach past Steve for the bedside table.
Steve grabbed her hand gently before she got very far and shook his head slowly. It was a really bad episode if she thought (Y/N) and Bucky were still alive. “They’re not with me right now, Pegs, but I’ll be sure to tell them you want to see them, alright?” he asked, hoping he sounded comforting and not like he was about to cry.
Peggy smiled at him like she did all those years ago and Steve felt his heart break all over again. “I’d like that very much. Those two are just the most adorable couple I’ve ever seen,” she said fondly.
Steve’s smile was fixed on his face so stiffly that he was worried it’d stay that way forever. “Yeah, they are.”
Steve did end up going to the VA.
By the time someone had come in to take care of Peggy (who’d fallen asleep shortly after her episode began. “Too much excitement,” Nurse Shelly had told him with a beady, accusing stare that sent him scurrying out the door) it was too late to make it in time to truly participate in the conversation, not that Steve was sure he could have anyway.
“Sam Wilson?” he asked the lady at the desk, who immediately went flustered and starry-eyed when she realized who he was.
She snapped a sloppy, frazzled salute to him and pointed down the hall. He gave her a polite “thank you, ma’am,” and walked leisurely in the direction she’d indicated. He could feel her eyes on his back the whole way.
The doors to the room were open and Steve leaned against the door frame, not wanting to interrupt the woman who was sharing. Sam was at the front of the room and Steve saw his eyes flick to Steve for a split second before returning to the woman. No one else seemed to realize he was there, which Steve was thankful for.
“The thing is, I think it’s getting worse. A cop pulled me over last week. He thought I was drunk. I swerved to miss a plastic bag. Thought it was an IED.” When she finished talking she looked down at her hands, missing the understanding looks the other vets were giving her.
“Some stuff you leave there,” Sam began. His voice was soothing and cut easily through the tension in the room. It was clear that this was a safe space and everyone in that room trusted Sam. “Other stuff you bring back. It’s our job to figure out how to carry it. Is it gonna be in a big suitcase, or in a little man purse? It’s up to you.”
Steve’s jaw worked as he mulled over Sam’s words. Peggy’s words from earlier bounced off his skull until there was nothing but a racket left for him to sift through.
Steve stayed and listened for the rest of the meeting, but never went and sat down. It was almost over, anyhow.
After, Sam said goodbye to some of the vets before making his way over to Steve, making busy work by reorganizing and stacking pamphlets. “Look who it is. The running man,” Sam said, throwing Steve a sly smirk over his shoulder.
Steve tucked his hands in his pockets and walked over. “Caught the last few minutes. It’s pretty intense.”
Sam nodded as he placed some cards back into the basket on the table. “Yeah, brother. We all got the same problems. Guilt, regret.” There was a tone in his voice and look in his eye that Steve knew all too well.
“You lose someone?” he asked quietly. Sam didn’t have to answer. It was a pretty personal question, after all.
But he did anyway. He nodded, eyes eventually landing on Steve though Steve could tell he wasn’t completely in the present. “My wingman, Riley. Flying a night mission. Standard PJ rescue op. Nothing we hadn’t done a thousand times before. Until an RPG knocked Riley’s dumb ass outta the sky. Nothing I could do. S’like I was up there just to watch.”
Steve’s memory flashed to that Godforsaken train in the alps. Of (Y/N) and Bucky falling mere milliseconds before he got there.
“I’m sorry,” was all he said instead.
“After that, I had a really hard time finding a reason for being over there, y’know?” he said with a weak smile.
“But you’re happy now? Back in the world?” Steve asked, nodding his head towards the large stack of papers on the table.
Sam crossed his arms and the smile on his face was a little more genuine now. “Hey, the number of people giving me orders is down to about-” he made a show of looking around, “-zero? So, hell yeah.” He was smiling in earnest now, just like he had been at the National Mall. “You thinkin’ about getting out?”
Steve stared at a spot on the table. “No,” he said quickly with a little shake of his head. Then he paused and tilted his head, considering. “I don’t know.” He smiled that melancholy smile. “To be honest, I don’t know what I would do with myself if I did.”
Sam considered that for a moment, his lips tipping down at the corners. “Ultimate fighting?” Steve laughed and Sam chuckled. “Just a great idea off the top of my head,” he said, grinning. “Seriously, you could do whatever you want to do. What makes you happy?”
Steve looked back at Sam, his lips straight in that almost-smile he wore too often these days. “I dunno.”
Your POV
The mission was simple. Assassination was simpler than extraction or escort.
One target. High value. Extremely capable. Proceed with caution.
Hydra sent out a small group of soldiers dressed as local police. Handler Pierce wanted to solve the problem without pulling you and the other Soldier into it if at all possible. You were valuable, best used in the shadows.
However, it was clear from the noise on the comms that the Hydra soldiers had failed and were in pursuit. You watched the screen in your hand, quickly tracking his most likely paths of escape.
You kicked the bike into life and shoved the tiny device back into your pocket. “Hop off when I slow you down. Grab your Mag Disc Grenade launcher,” you said by way of warning. His right arm was already around your waist so he didn’t slide back even an inch when you sped forward out of the alley. The electric engine was nearly silent, perfect for stealth operations... ignoring the fact it was broad daylight out.
You’d drop him off at one of the most likely routes of egress of your target then head to the other yourself. You’d leave the bike with the other Soldier. If the target happened to take another route, you’d pursue one foot (well, jet skates) and he’d pursue on the bike.
But you trusted your calculations.
You slowed down at the corner of one of the intersections, pulling up on the curb and ignoring the gaggle of surprised onlookers. Most of them scattered when they got one look at the guns you were packing, but some stopped and took pictures, gawking like a bunch of brain-dead monkeys. You ignored them and felt the bike shift as the Soldier hopped off, mag launcher in hand. You parked the bike on the curb, knowing there was no way in hell anyone would be stupid enough to touch it after getting a single look at you and the other Soldier.
“What about you? There’s only one,” the Soldier said, holding up his launcher as the two of you started to walk away from the bike.
You rolled your eyes even knowing he couldn’t see the gesture behind your goggles. “Shut up and do your job,” you said, grinning ferally beneath your mask as your razor-sharp wheels popped out of your feet. It the other Soldier said anything after that, it was drowned out by the roar of your twin heel jets and a half second later you were half a block away.
“I really don’t need this, you know. You should have taken it,” said his voice in your ear.
You growled your annoyance. “I don’t need it either, idiot. A high-tech car like the target’s? I can fry it with a single touch. I doubt it can outrun me in this traffic anyway. Did you plan to punch it into submission?”
The other Soldier made a noncommittal noise in the back of his throat. “Are you in position?”
You came to a stop in the middle of the street, ignoring the cars that swerved wildly to avoid you. A few drivers yelled angrily at you as they passed, but you ignored them, too. “Of course. Tell me if you get a visual. It seems like the target lost the agents that had been pursuing him. I don’t have any information no-”
“I have a visual.”
You groaned and fired your heel rockets up again and headed back to the other Soldier’s position. “I’m headed back. Status?”
“Mag grenade deployed.” There was the sound of an explosion in your headset and you were fairly sure that if you didn’t have your heel jets on you’d be able to hear the explosion and screams with your own ears. You could imagine the car flying through the air. In fact you rounded the corner just in time to watch the other Soldier sidestep the SUV, smoke wrapping around him like a cloak.
Tumblr media
“Success. Target’s transport destroyed.”
“Finish him, then. I’ll be there in a moment with the bike and then we can return to Handler Pierce and inform him of our success.”
You watched him wrench the door off its hinges and send it flying. You left him to finish the target and grabbed the bike which, as you’d expected, had been given a wide berth. You kicked it on and rolled over to the Soldier a half-block away. You knew immediately something had gone wrong. He was stalking towards you, but his posture was all wrong.
“What happened?” you asked, looking between him and the wreck.
You heard him through both the comm and the normal way as he hopped onto the bike behind you, sitting back to back so he could watch your six while you made your escape. There was a handle on the back for the express purpose of him being able to hang on while you drove. “He used some sort of device to cut through the door of the SUV. Escaped into the sewers. Could be anywhere, especially if he has backup waiting for him.”
You glowered as you weaved through the city’s streets, cutting through traffic and dodging places you knew had cameras. “You should have chased after him.”
“We can back and you can go down the sewers in a fruitless chase for our quarry, then.” When you didn’t respond he sounded almost smug. “Didn’t think so.”
“You can tell Handler Pierce you let him get away from you, then.”
He went stiff against your back and you knew that had struck a nerve. “We still have eight hours.”
You frowned. “So it’s on me to find him again.”
There was a pause, then, “No, it’s on us.”

Americano: No hablo su Jesu Cristo  Chapter 2
Chapter 1
Ship: Chibs x OC
Word Count: 2,565 Words
Synopsis: Isa confronts her uncle for working with Zobelle. Jax and Chibs learn who Isa is and why she hates them so much.
Rating: M
Warnings: Strong Language, Mentions of Death and Attempted Suicide/Self-Harm
A/N: I know it’s been a long time since I posted part 1! Here is part 2. I hope everyone likes it. Please let me know if you want to be tagged!! Enjoy!
Her POV
As soon as Zobelle drove away she jumped out of her car, furious at her uncle. “¿Qué crees que estás haciendo? ¿Cómo puedes trabajar con ese cabrón?”
“Es necesario para los negocios, mi sobrina.” He nodded to one of his men who sped off on his motorcycle.
“You trade one devil for another. They want us dead more than the Sons do!”
“I traded one devil to deal with the other. Once I have the Sons taken care of, I’ll deal with Zobelle.”
She sat down next to her car with her hands on her head. Her uncle was the only person she had left to remind her of her father. Growing up, she was closer to her father than anyone, and when he was taken away from her, she traveled down a path that only her uncle was able to save her from.
He reached down and helped her stand up. Marcus wrapped her in a hug before leading her to the passenger side of her car. He climbed into the driver’s side and drove away. “It’s been a long time since you’ve visited, Isa,” he said.
“If you and Tía Diana let me stay with you…”
He shook his head. “No. I want to keep you as far away from this life. I promised Mateo that I would keep you safe.”
“Then please let me move out. I can live in Stockton or Oakland. Amo a mi tia y tio, but I can’t live on that reservation.”
He grabbed her wrists and flashed them upward. “Am I able to leave you alone without finding you on the bathroom floor again?”
She looked down at the puckered, red flesh on her wrists. She lost her father two years after she lost her mother. She had grown so numb and empty that she would occasionally test herself. If she cut here, would she still feel pain? One time, though, she’d lost too much, and her uncle found her on the floor in a pool of her own blood. However, after she left the hospital, he sent her to live with her aunt and uncle at Wahewa. He wanted her out of California, but she refused to live in Nevada. Isa pulled her wrist away and rubbed it, remembering that dark time in her life. She had gotten help, learned to move on, and found other - healthier outlets to express herself: her hatred of the Sons of Anarchy was nice start. There wasn’t anything wrong with her; they were to blame for her problems.
“I’ve been doing a lot better. Aunt Dana has me gardening to reconnect with my roots. She says it’s productive and therapeutic.”
He raised his eyebrow.
“Look, every time I have any problems or feel like I’m going to relapse, I call my doctor.”
“Lo sé. She has to call me every time you do.”
She smiled. “What about confidentiality?”
“Does not exist when you’re on the Mayan payroll.” The car pulled into his driveway. “When this shit with Zobelle is over with, then we can buy you that place,” he said pointing to the small home adjacent to his.
She hugged Marcus as she climbed into the driver’s side. “Why don’t you come down for dinner next week? Diana misses you,” he said.
“Of course.” Isa put the car in reverse. “Te amo!”
“Te amo!” he waved.
She pulled out of the driveway and turned toward home.
Chibs POV
They watched as her car drove down the street. They decided instead of waiting until next week that they should grab her now. It gave her less time to gather more information about them. Chibs and Jax followed slowly behind her, leaving plenty of space between them. They followed her in the opposite direction of Wahewa. She led them through Oakland to a cemetery on the outskirts of town. They parked their bikes and followed her. Chibs drew his gun and kept it on her as she stopped in front of a marble headstone that read Mateo Alvarez. He and Jax slowly approached her. She didn’t move as they grew closer. They stopped two rows behind her and watched. They saw her wipe her eyes as she bowed her head in prayer. When she was finished, they were shocked to hear her speak out loud. “Are you going to kill me at my father’s grave? It’s almost poetic.”
Jax lowered his gun. “No. We just want to talk.”
She turned to look at them. Her green eyes piercing through Chibs. The pure hatred in them burned right through him as he kept a steady eye on her. “I have nothing to say to either of you.” She tried to storm past Jax, but he grabbed her wrist. She spun around fast and hit him square in the nose, causing him to release her. Chibs ran after her and grabbed both wrists, feeling the scars. “¡Déjame ir, hijo de puta!”
“Sorry, lass. My Spanish isn’t verra good. Care to translate?”
She spit at him. “I said let me go, motherfucker.”
They forced her to sit against a headstone as they aimed their guns at her. “Why were you meeting with Zobelle and Alvarez today?” Jax asked.
She wouldn’t look at them. “You know I won’t hesitate to shoot you here and now.”
“I know. I’m very well-versed in how you treat enemies of your club.”
Jax stepped closer to her with his gun. “Fine! I don’t want you to start another war with my uncle.”
He stopped and looked at her. “You’re Alvarez’s niece?”
She smiled. “What’s the matter? Did you just realize how big of a fuck up you are?”
“No, but if you’re giving information to your uncle about Wahewa, you have bigger problems than us right now.”
“I’m not stupid. I’m not going to give them that kind of information knowing that you’d kill me.”
“Then why were ye meetin’ with Zobelle and Alvarez today?” Chibs said.
She glared at him. “I was visiting my uncle. I don’t like that he’s dealing with Zobelle anymore than you do, Scottie.”
They looked at each other. “You were really just visiting?”
Isa released a long, exasperated sigh. “Yes. If I want to take my revenge out on SAMCRO, I’ll do it myself. I’m not going to give my uncle firepower to start another war with you. I’m not about to lose more family.”
Jax looked at Chibs who shrugged. “Why do ye hate us so much, lass?”
She looked at her father’s grave and then back to Chibs. “I’ll give you one guess.”
“Shite. Let her go, Jackie.”
Jax lowered his gun and shook his head. “Go back to Wahewa,” he said.
She stood up and dusted her jeans. “I’m not one of your old ladies to boss around,” she said defiantly.
Jax pointed his gun at her. “Leave! Now!”
She rolled her eyes and walked back to her car. “Well, at least she’s not telling the Mayans about our ammunition supply,” he said to Chibs.
“Aye, but she’s angry with us for killin’ her da.”
“She’s just one girl,” Jax said, “I don’t think we need to worry about her.”
“Oh no, yer right there, Jackie Boy,” he said sarcastically, “she’ll only tryta pop our tires ev’ry time we are there.”
Jax smiled. “I guess she can be your problem then. Next time we are there for a pick up, you get to keep an eye on her.”
“Half Sack is better at babysittin’ than I am,” he said as they headed back to their bikes.
“Right, but he’s tailing Zobelle.”
Chibs strapped his helmet on. “Dè bha mi a ‘dèanamh ceàrr…” he muttered under his breath.
“Hey,” Jax said, “it could be worse.” He winked at him before revving up his engine.
Chibs laughed. “It could be much worse.”
Her POV
She didn’t pay attention to the odometer as she sped towards Wahewa. All she could feel was anger welling inside her. Anger towards SAMCRO. Anger towards Alvarez. Anger towards herself. She didn’t want to keep living on a shitty reservation, but her uncle refused to let her move home. She didn’t want SAMCRO near her dear aunt and uncle or the Wahewa, but they needed the money. She didn’t want to be this angry, but it’s the only emotion she was familiar with.
When she pulled into the drive, her Aunt was sitting under the canopy of their house weaving. “I’ve been waiting for you to come back,” she said, “Where have you been, Isadora?”
“Oakland.” She sat down on the steps in front of her.
“What on earth were you doing in Oakland? I thought Marcus told you to stay put for now.”
Isa sighed. “Since when did I listen to anyone, Biazi? I felt the need to see my family.”
Dana sat down next to her. “If SAMCRO finds out you’re his niece…”
“They know.”
“What!”
“Two of them followed me today. Jax and that Scot.”
“Well what happened?”
“They questioned me and asked me if I shared any information with Tio Marcus. I told them no. I can only assume now they are going to watch me like a hawk the next time they’re here.”
She shook her head. “No. The next time they’re here, you’re leaving. I don’t care if you hang out in Oakland, but just leave when they show up.”
Isa stood up. “It’s time for bed. I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Isa, I’m serious.”
“I know, Aunt Dana. Good night.”
***
Once a week they would arrive, and once a week they would collect their ammunition. A week had passed and it was time for their pick up. Dana had given her a shopping list full of things she needed picked up in Charming. Isa heard them pulling up the drive, so she grabbed her keys and hopped into her car. She rolled her eyes she watched their van pull up. She waited until they parked before putting her car into reverse. Isa looked in her rearview mirror and saw Chibs and Jax blocking her path. “Move, assholes, or I will run you over,” she said.
Chibs walked over to her window and leaned in. “Where do ye think yer goin’, lass?”
“Far away from you,” she said, annoyed.
He smiled. She could tell he enjoyed being a huge inconvenience to her. “Based on yer last adventure, I canna allow that.”
She started moving her car, Chibs moved with her. “Jax, call off your dog.”
“Afraid I can’t do that, darlin’.”
“I’m not going to see my uncle. If I showed up again, today, he’d ship me off to Nevada.”
Chibs let go of her window. She shook her head and continued backing up, before speeding away toward town. Isa looked in her rearview mirror waiting for motorcycles to appear behind her. Glad to be free of the reservation, she pressed on the accelerator and allowed the warm, Californian air to whip through her hair. She turned the radio up and enjoyed the peaceful drive into town. It wasn’t long before she pulled into the small grocery store. Isa parked the car and grabbed her list. It wasn’t until she got out of her car did she see him leaning up against his parked bike.
“You’ve got to be shitting me,” she said, “what are you doing here?”
He smiled. “Jax has tasked me with keepin’ a tail on ye.”
“Dios ayúdame,” she said under her breath. Isa stormed over to the biker and crossed her arms. “I don’t need a tail, so hop back on your bike and go back to your club.”
“He dinna trust ye. Besides, ye told us yer gonna get yer revenge on us eventually. I need to make sure tha dinna happen.”
She looked around at the other shoppers in the parking lot. She was not one to make a scene in public, but she was ready to do whatever she needed in order to get rid of SAMCRO. “Then leave my tribe alone. You assholes are the reasons why I have no family, so I have nothing left to lose.”
Chibs looked around. “Tha may be, lass, but yer not gonna do anything stupid while I’m around. If anybody understands the need for revenge…” he reached up and touched the scars on his cheeks. “Jus’ hurry up and get yer things so we can get back to the reservation.”
For once, Isa didn’t argue with the Scot and walked into the grocery store. Before entering, she turned and saw him sitting on his bike watching her, making sure she entered the store. She grabbed the few things she needed and headed back to her car. Chibs was still waiting on his bike for her. She then drove to the nearest home and garden store. She needed to get supplies to build a better box garden for her flowers. She grabbed what she needed and saw him still sitting on his bike, waiting for her. After she loaded her car, Isa approached Chibs. “I was going to stop at the diner for some lunch,” she said, “you might as well come in with me.”
“I thought ye hated us,” he said.
“Yeah, but I’m not an asshole. Everyone needs to eat.”
He looked at his phone. No missed calls or texts. “Fine. But we should make it quick.”
They drove to the diner and ordered something small. As Isa sat across from him, she glared over her cup of tea. “Look, I canna eat with ye starin’ at me like tha.”
“Why did you do it?”
“Do what?”
She sighed and set her cup down. “The war with the Mayans. Why would you murder my father in cold blood?”
Chibs shook his head. “Lass, it’s not that simple. Both sides lost people. Yer da just happened to be caught in the crossfires.”
“Do you know who he was? He was president before Marcus. They found him in a pool of his own blood in his bathroom. His throat was slit and the Anarchy symbol carved into his chest. That doesn’t sound like crossfire to me.”
He didn’t respond, but continued looking at her. He couldn’t help but feel somewhat empathetic towards her. Chibs knew that kill wasn’t theirs, but he didn’t have enough proof to show her. He finished his drink and threw some cash on the table. He stood up and looked around at some of the other customers staring at them. “Time ta go.”
She grabbed her bag and stormed out of the restaurant ahead of him.
Chibs POV
It was after church and Chibs asked to speak with Jax in private. They both walked outside to the picnic tables and lit their cigarettes. “Do ye remember when the Mayans lost their original president?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Tha’s Isa’s da.”
He took a long drag on his cigarette before replying. “She thinks we killed Mateo?”
Chibs nodded. “We gotta find out who did it, Jackie Boy. She won’t stop comin’ after us until she knows the truth.”
“I’ll give Otto a call and see if he can’t do some digging around.”
Relieved, Chibs jumped off the table and walked back into the bar for a drink. He knew she would stop at nothing until she avenged her father, because he knew all too well how badly the vengeful feeling would eat at her until it was fulfilled.

Lunchbag Pokedex Volume 2
9 months later from my official start date of February 27th 2017, I have progressed to finishing 88 out of the original 151 pokemon.
Since there was at least 2 months or so where I was not drawing pokemon lunchbags, this averages out to me drawing around 12 pokemon a month, or 3 pokemon a week, which is kinda not great. I should be doing 4-5 pokemon most weeks, but issues happen, kids get in trouble and I have had to buy lunch bags and new marker sets a few times.
I definitely have been getting better at drawing pokemon after 9 months of this, but I think I might need to drop the sharpie thing. These new lunchbags soak up sharpie like its going out of style, so I cannot get quite as much detail as I did with some of the earlier ones (done with standard crayola kids markers) I have done a few pokemon roughs in pencils before inking them in with markets, which helps a lot, but I really just don’t find myself always having time to do that every day.
This edition of the Lunchbag Pokedex is going to be #035-073, ending in Tentacruel
For previous pokemon, see Volume 1 of the Lunchbag Pokedex.
Tumblr media
035 Clefairy - It’s pink. My daughter loves pink. 036 Clefable - I did this one in highlighter, it’s colors really pop because of it
Tumblr media
037 Vulpix - One of my daughter’s favorites, I tried to get this one done decently. I attempted an alolan Vulpix as well, but the anatomy turned out wonky so I just tossed it. Benefits of doing a drawing a night or two ahead of time. 038 Ninetails - This one came out as one of the best of the spring.
Tumblr media
039 Jigglypuff - my markers were misplaced for a few days here, which is unfortunate, because I think they came out decently. 040 Wigglytuff
Tumblr media
041 Zubat - this was done before summer, and was my last ‘mon for months 042 Golbat - first pokemon done after the summer ended, came out okay. My daughter first started questioning why I wasn’t doing evolutions (like crobat) that she knew existed, and I had to explain to her that I was only doing gen 1 pokemon? Why she asks? Because the thought of eventually doing all 807 is just beyond my ability to comprehend. Gen 1 is already a pretty big goal, equating to me drawing at least one pokemon every other day or so for a year.
Tumblr media
043 Oddish - This evolutionary line is one of my daughter’s favorites? 044 Gloom - She dressed up as a Gloom for halloween last year, and my wife also has made her a custom crocheted gloom plush here 045 Vileplume - Vileplume/Gloom and Sylveon all are among her favorites.
Tumblr media
046 Paras - always thought the whole parasitical pokemon concept was a bit dark for a game/TV show aimed at like 10 year olds. Maybe thats just me. 047 Parasect - this dude was super rushed, but it came out okay.
Tumblr media
048 Venonat - this one was drawn LAST november, before I started the blog. To save on time I have been reposting old things to serve as some contrast to how I am drawing now. I wasn’t even using color back then, but my daughter loved little lunch bag drawings. I loved that she couldn’t lose another lunchbox. 049 Venomoth - Drawn 9 months later, I started using color, and things in general have improved quite a bit. At least I think so.
Tumblr media
050 Diglett - This was a perfect pokemon to draw in just a few minutes before the bus came to pick up my kid. I got lucky. 051 Dugtrio (Alola Forme) - My daughter is really interested in alola formes, so this is the second one I drew her. The first was a regular and alolan sandshrew this trio is fabulous. Really it is.
Tumblr media
052 Meowth - This guy was rushed, and done in 5min, but looks way better than that poor malformed persian 053 Persian - Sometimes I draw straight from Ken Sugimori’s original artwork, aping the pose and all, other times I try to do my own poses. I  attempted to draw this from a real life cat reference, and it came out terrible. Theres another badly drawn attempt if you click the link.
Tumblr media
054 Psyduck - After the atrocity that was the Persians, I took plenty of time to do these two, doing them the day before after work and before my daughter came home. They came out great. Some of the best ones I have done possibly. 055 Golduck - It really does make a difference taking your time to do things right instead of rushing to get a drawing done in the 15 minutes you have free in the morning before the bus comes.
Tumblr media
056 Mankey - This dude looks angry as hell, which is super appropriate. having such heavy sketchy lines doesn’t work for all pokemon, but I am definitely using it for some pokes. It looks pretty decent. 057 Primeape - ANGERY MONKEY IS ANGERY!
Tumblr media
058 Growlithe - My daughter could not stop saying “PUPPER!!!” the entire day that she got this on. She loves puppers. 059 Arcanine - Similarly, my daughter could not restrain herself from saying DOGGO!!!! for about 24 hours after getting this.
Tumblr media
060 Poliwag - I started playing Pokemon Snap! on my Wii U’s virtual console, so my kid was pretty excited, because she loved the river stage with the poliwags. 061 Poliwhirl - did you know the poliwag line is based on a real frog with a real spiral on it? Check it out here 062 Poliwrath - This dude always looks angry. Kinda like Russel Crowe.
Tumblr media
063 Abra - “It’s so SLEEPY!” my daughter always yells while laughing. 064 Kadabra - My wife drew this one for me, as I had just drawn a really detailed Charizard Y for my daughter’s friend at school (I got a request from fans at her school!) and the Abra. Guest artists are a good idea. 065 Alakazam - Not quite as good as my wife’s Kadabra, but it has cool psychic effects around it. Kadabra/Alakazam’s head is weird.
Tumblr media
066 Machop - This dude looks like little hercules, which is creepy as hell tbh. 067 Machoke - He’s here to PAHMP! YOU! UP! 068 Machamp - My daughter loves that he is holding a sign for some reason.
Tumblr media
069 Bellsprout - I think this one came out great. Bellsprout has a nice simple design that comes off well. I think it is one of the least weird plant pokemon. 070 Weepinbell - Then this dude is like the awkward teenage phase of the line. 071 Victreebel - I don’t get how Weepinbell or Victreebel move around? Also why do they have a stem? Like, WTF?
Tumblr media
072 Tentacool - Every so often if I have time I will try to draw in a background, and maybe some cameos from later generations like these luvdisc. Having a background is difficult though because of how dark sharpies come out. I am considering using sharpies for the main pokemon and using crayolas for BGs. 073 Tentacruel - Another heavy lineart pokemon that looks pretty good. Sadly my daughter was being bad, and did not get this pokemon for a few weeks. I threatened to give it to our stupid cat, who might possibly eat it if my daughter didn’t stop losing paperwork at school. She got it eventually.
And that’s all folks! I am actually up to #88 so far, but I don’t want to make these posts too long.
For earlier work, here is Volume 1 of the Lunchbag Pokedex

Paradise Lost | Cassandra + Rabastan
                                                   Self para
Date: April 17th Time: 2:50 AM Location: Lestrange Family Manor
“How unfortunate,” Cassandra murmured while rotating a filled glass with bourbon clockwise, looking down out of habit. Rabastan laid on the floor, his body fixated with the Imperius curse. She flicked her wand once, just so that he could speak to her and, just like she wished, he even got to stand up and obediently hid his hands behind his back. “I thought you’d be gone for at least a few more hours, considering your mission included killing one of the more important politicians. I underestimated you -- and Alecto, as well. What has she been up to, lately? And Amycus, too? I rarely get to see him anymore. Such a pity, I really liked his dry humor and his mad laugh,” Cassandra shrugged and sat down, her wand still pointing to Rabastan who silently watched Cassandra in return. Though he’d clenched his jaw slightly, his body only reacted slightly. “What do you want?” he smelled like smoke, was covered in blood and had no interest in hearing his old friend’s new plan, but maybe she’d leave if he cooperated.
“Nothing in particular,” she lied “you know, the same thing everybody wants. Power, love, freedom and control.” Cassandra took a sip from her bourbon and chuckled. She loved the way he looked at her, the reserved look on his face paired with anger, frustration and yet, obedience, because he simply couldn’t help himself. His entire body shook as he tried to break free from her compulsion, but he simply couldn’t. “I actually want you to believe I’ve gone missing. Not dead, but simply missing. Ah, and there’s one more thing,” her finger tipped against her lips. “Walden McNair. Why’s he searching for me? I need to know. Sheer curiosity? I want you to distract him.” Cassandra had stood up by now, a sigh escaping her lips.
“I will not obey, I will,” furious at his lack of control, he started to press his teeth together. “I will kill you,” from one second to the other Cassandra had come closer and manipulated him further. “I’ve gone missing,”
“You’ve gone missing. Cassandra Burke’s missing.” “And I need you to distract Walden. I don’t need answers, just someone to cover me while I find out what’s going on.” “Yes,” Rabastan’s lips curled upwards into a grin, his white teeth showing, just as sharp as Cassandra remembered them to be. He always had the most beautiful teeth, definitely a Lestrange trait. Speaking of. “Oh, Merlin, your brother’s finally climbing up the ladder, although, I must admit, I’ll vote for Orion. Orion’s much more experienced,” Cassandra shrugged, “but still, best of luck in his candidacy, he’ll need every supporter he can get, even as a Lestrange.”
Confused by her words, Rabastan kept on staring at her, his grin now slowly fading again as he could feel his muscles relax and the compulsion wear off. The Imperius curse had lost its effect, the wand hadn’t adjusted to her, not after merely two weeks with her -- the wand wasn’t cooperating. He’d believed every word she’d said until now, would distract Walden from her, but now the part in  which she’d announced her disappearance. His puzzled expression upon seeing her after the compulsion now hid behind an opened mouth, which he quickly moved as he spoke, covering up his freedom with playing pretend. What game are you playing, Cassandra? His question didn’t found its way out of him, instead he formed a different question. “What makes you think we’ll lose against an old man? Against a Black?” he looked offended. “Because he’s experienced war, while Rodolphus, being Rodolphus, cares more about you than anyone else, so it seems. And you can’t keep your god-complex in check. They know who you are and they’ll come for you. You’re a liability, a chain that keeps Rodolphus tied to problems he can never escape from. This is why he won’t win. You’ve been with him your entire life, that you completely misinterpret his love for you.” moving through the living room, Cassandra kept on searching for something. Her lack of control served as a way to get more information out of Cass, which is why Rabastan laid low, didn’t try to kill her just yet. Their positions had switched by now and he figured spending more time with her could potentially reveal more than forcefully choking it out of her.
“What exactly are you doing here in the first place, Cassandra?” his gaze followed her through the room, until she finally stopped at a picture. With her back to Rabastan, Cassandra glared at the picture, recognized her friends, smiling at the camera, being students and free, so unlike now. “Waiting for Rodolphus -- I actually planned to talk to him in private, but I guess France will have to suffice. I never wanted you to know I’m alive, so you’ll have to believe otherwise, do you understand me?”
“I understand,” he answered immediately, even after Cassandra had tried to curse him again -- his free will remained intact. “Once Augustus is free,” Cassandra stated, “my debt to him will be over. I promised myself I’d always protect him, but now, I--,” Amos’ words about Augustus might’ve been true after all, so the thought of saving her fiancé really didn’t excite her that much -- not anymore. “Now what?” he sounded annoyed by now, blowing his cover immediately. Cassandra’s jaw clenched as he walked freely towards her, his wand pushing against the bottom side of her chin. “I don’t care if you leave us or not. Whatever game you playing -- you play them by my rules. Keep Orion in check -- for my brother -- and consider yourself lucky I didn’t kill you today, mudblood lover -- the day will come, I promise you that. Am I understood?” he now pressed his wand more forcefully against her skin, until a red beam of light flashed against her skin, just another Imperius curse. “Yes,” she sounded numb, emotionless. “I don’t care about your personal agenda, your desires or your bloody ideals -- All I care about is my brother, so if you do not side with us and destroy Orion, I will destroy you. If you keep distracting my brother, I will come for you. I’ll know where all your weak spots are and I’ll use them to my advantage. I know what you’re planning, Cass, and it’s not going to work.” oh, how wrong he was, but Cassandra couldn’t speak nor fight back. “I’m not just his little brother,” rage filled his heart, “I’m a Lestrange, one of the Dark Lord’s most trusted soldiers--” he clenched his jaw to stop himself from speaking. After he’d relaxed for a bit, Rabastan removed himself from her and walked towards the couch, sitting down comfortably, a grin on his face. “If you attempt to manipulate me or my brother one more time, I’ll torture you until you’ll beg for death -- and only then I’ll happily kill you. Don’t play with fire or you’ll get burned, Cass -- your father might’ve been neglectful, but he still taught you one or two things, didn’t he? So, whatever you’ve planned for my brother -- I’d advise you to keep your distance or I’ll come for you and completely turn you into my subject. Do what you want, but if you’re smart I’d advise you to do as I say.” he raised his voice in the last half of his sentence.
“You’re insecure. You don’t want them to be safe, do you? You want them all to die -- Orion, Augustus, Cassius? You’re so fixated on your brother, that you keep ignoring the obvious threat.” Rabastan shook his head. “I just want them out of the picture. The Lestrange’s will take over from here -- and Orion needs to be distracted, as you call it, long enough to lose focus.” Rabastan grinned, “that’s what you’re good for, Cass. Now, go live your pathetic life, before I’ll change my mind.”

I’m just sad I missed out on the great pictures sob it was like a fairy tale ( I tried to talk my mom out of it by saying about how a pair of magpies were considered auspicious n all and I’m disappointed it didn’t work ?? I made a pretty good argument I feel ;v )
right so like last week we had a few slices of raisin bread from T&T ( our local Asian food supplier in the form of a supermarket eyyy ) and I was like,,, wow ??? dude how great would raisin bread french toast be like wOW !!? I’ve never made french toast before and tbh we’re like rice everyday ™ and honestly the inside of our fridge has never seen cheese or cream or pasta ( ok look I know uncooked pasta doesn’t go in the fridge but I was making a point ) and certain other western-type foods are rare guests ( a tragedy rly because I love that stuff ) bUT ANYWAY !! I was thinking about french toast and going,,, woah,,, woah woAH ??? we might actually have all the ingredients ?? we always have eggs, and… oh, half and half…? aw… we don’t have that— oH but you can make it with milk and butter ??? gasp i actually think we have like 1 stick of frozen butter from waaaay back and I’m sure it’s saved there omg this’ll work. we don’t have nutmeg but… I distinctly remember getting vanilla extract and my mom says we have cinnamon ?? I didn’t even know we had cinnamon !! wow this is going to work imma make it for breakfast tomorrow it will be great !! so cue tomorrow, I wake up earlier to get it ready ( lmao since usually I wake up like 5 mins before transit comes and toss stuff into my backpack and leave ) and,,, and it turns out we I overestimated what we had in our fridge aHAHA,,, what I thought was a stick of butter was actually yeast and there was ?? no sugar ?? I could not find sugar,,, we didn’t have milk either and I was v disappointed in myself bUT !! I still made it using soy milk and brown sugar ( it was super hard I was chiseling it with a spoon ) but luckily I did manage to dig out the vanilla extract + the cinnamon was def there, as were the eggs and salt was around. of course, had to use vegetable oil instead of butter to grease the pan as I’d planned but !! it totally turns out great and was a p good success considering a first attempt hahaha,,, topped it with bananas, crumbled walnut and maple syrup and it was great :^))))))
ummmmmmmmmmmm wow those turned out long hAHAHA,, uh no other interesting stories are coming to mind right away but like ?? I guess one time when I was a kid we were in Toronto I think and I,,, rushed some pigeons ( like when u try to make people flinch right ?? yeah ) some pigeons that were in a courtyard and like,,, ok so there was a lady eating subway and she was a respectable business lady or smth bUT SO THE FLOCK OF PIGEONS ALL TOOK OFF AND SHE ( understandably ) SPOOKED AND DROPPED HER SUBWAY AND WALKED QUICKLY AWAY AND WOW I FELT SO BAD AAHHAAHAAAaaa,,, either way the pigeons descended on the subway and it was never seen again,,, I still feel rlllyyy bad abt it I’m so sorry for like ruining that woman’s day sobbbbb
ohey and we come full circle aHahah,, one story about birds, another story about food, and then a story about birds and food aahhaahaHAHAA,,, pretty accurate reflection of my life tbh,,, I’m all about birds and food
oH,, oh,, nother story came to mind which involves a rly majestic nosebleed but uh hmmm let’s save that one PSHH

Kyuranger 2, Ex-Aid 19 & Dragon Blood 7 thoughts (Spoilers)
Well it’s time I get around to catching up on last weeks Toku shows. Last Time: Our new series started off on a meh note, with rushed pacing and iffy characters, meanwhile, Genm explains his Kamen Rider Chronicle game and reveals the truth to Emu that he has Game Disease, meanwhile, Kagome explains her backstory and Edel manages to capture Alice. With all that said, can the Kyurangers get themselves up from being less than mediocre? what will happen to Emu? and will they be able to save Alice in time? Let’s find out.
Tumblr media
Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger episode 2:
Garu and Lucky are informed on who Jark Matters leader is, who they are and go to the planet Jigama to find the Kyutama. Lucky finds Naga and Balance fighting Jark Matter and believes they’re Kyurangers.
They tell him that they’re thieves that steal from Jark Matter, they meet up with the others and tells them he’s gonna help them out. The others find Jark Matter and battle them while the others enters the factory.
Ediron appears and battles the Kyuranger, causing them to retreat. Gammetsui finds the others and Balance betrays Lucky, Naga gets angry and join Lucky’s side. Lucky believes Balance will save them.
Balance sees the error of his ways and saves them. They find the two Kyutama’s, becoming Gold and Silver Kyuranger and defeat Gammetsui. They form Kyuren-oh to attack the ship, but Gammetsui grows.
Naga and Balance decide to help, forming new arms on Kyuren-Oh and defeat Gammetsui as well as the ship. They celebrate their victory, elsewhere, a mysterious figure has the Orange Kyutama.
Next Time: A stingy situation
Overall I found this episode to be interesting, a little better than the previous episode, but still has some of the issues I have with it. Let’s talk about the good parts, starting with our two new characters Naga Rei and Balance, I like them so far, with Naga Rei being an alien who’s race decided not to use emotions, so he has a hard time understanding them, while Balance is the head of the group, finding treasures and stealing from Jark Matter, it’s interesting to see the robot is teaching the humanoid alien about emotions, you don’t see that often in other shows. I also enjoyed how they were able to summon their own mechs and pull the Kyuren-oh’s arms and become the new arms, I found myself laughing at that. Now to talk about the things I didn’t like, so far Lucky seems like a walking plot device, from him guessing the Kyutama was on Planet Jigama and encountering Balance and Naga, another issue I have would be it’s pacing issues, some moments move a little too fast, such as Balance betraying Lucky and in a few seconds, when he sees Lucky and Naga about to be executed, he feels bad and decides to save them in a few minutes, barely giving us any time to progress his character. Also didn’t like how they pull a deus ex machina with one of the treasure the Jark Matter had just happened to be two Kyutama’s, for our new characters, there are better ways they could’ve written that. So far this series getting itself back up, but I’m not feeling the fun that this series is suppose to be, but I’ll stay optimistic and see if this series can get itself to be better. Can’t wait for the next episode, where we’re introduce to our mentor, Champ isn’t feeling well and they meet up with the stranger who turns out to be the Scorpio Ranger.
Tumblr media
Kamen Rider Ex-Aid episode 19:
Emu wakes up in the CR, everyone else wonders why the Bugster didn’t appear and destroy Emu. Dan is almost finished with his Kamen Rider Chronicle project, with only six Bugsters left.
Elsewhere, Mai is infected with a virus. They see that Emu isn’t acting like himself, but get a Bugster alert, it reveals it’s a level 30 Gutton and Ex-Aid battles it, Gutton reverts back to Mai.
Hiro is irritated by the new Emu, so he takes his Gashat and talks with Mai, who explains that she’s pressured to do her best at a dance school, Gutton returns and Hiro is about to fight it, but Emu joins the fight.
Genm helps Gutton and uses Taddle Fantasy to fight Ex-Aid, but Hiro distracts it and makes it run tino a confusion power up, giving him time to get the Gashat to become Brave Taddle Fantasy.
Brave talks about what it means to be a doctor, Emu is inspired by it, turning him back to normal. Brave beats Genm and Gutten, regaining his old Gashats. Mai thanks him and Hiro gives Emu his Gashat back.
Next Time: strong as a Battleship.
Overall I really liked this episode, it was great seeing Hiro get some character progression in this episode, all cause Emu’s M personality was pretty much irritating to him, which made him have to get involved with trying to see Mai’s cause of stress and having to help her out, as well as show him getting more clever with tricking the floating Taddle Fantasy armor by luring it with Emu’s Gashat and letting it hit the Confusion power up, that was pretty cool. I also liked how we see how far Dan is with his Kamen Rider Chronicle project, by seeing he needs the Bugster data from the last 6/10 Bugsters. Now to talk about Taddle Fantasy, I really like the design of it, the dark red and blue really make this mesh together really well, especially with his ability to summon a Bugster army to fight the others, the only thing I don’t like about it so far was it’s finisher, with it mostly being just a simple kick made it pretty anticlimactic. But I did like how Hiro’s speech about what it means to be a doctor was what helped Emu revert back to normal. This series is really getting better and better, I find myself having fun here even when the series has it’s dark moments, I hope it can keep this up until it ends. Can’t wait for the next episode, where the CR go to a theme park, Emu is unable to transform, fearing he might lose himself again, Brave battles Para-DX, Taiga takes the dual Gashat and becomes Snipe Bang Bang Simulation
Tumblr media
Zero Dragon Blood episode 7:
We recap what we know so far, Alice wakes up and she tells Edel that she was the first to find it in a big tree, Edel realizes that Nova protected it, tearing up and asking if she wants to see the dragon.
Rei and the others head to Alice’s location until until various Madou beasts arrive to fight them, they combine to become a giant beast while Rei heads on. Edel tricks Alice in unlocking the egg to see its beauty.
Rei arrives to fight Edel while Alice escapes. Rekka and Kagome combine their power to defeat the Madou Beast, Edel notices Alice nearby and sends a beast after her, then Rekka saves her.
The three battle Edel while Alice escapes, he and Rei transform while summoning Ginga and a Madou Dragon to battle each other. They end up catching up to Alice, who runs to the top of the building.
Edel catches up to Alice and Kagome decides to use one final resort, She blows herself up with Edel, damaging him, at the cost of her own life. They mourn the loss of their fallen ally.
Next Time: Look at this Photograph
Overall I enjoyed this episode, it was great seeing some subtle hints of Edel’s backstory such as someone he knows named Nova was probably the one who protected the Dragon egg years ago before he was sealed up. I did enjoy the fight with the Madou beasts and how they combined together to become a giant mechanical life form, which looks awesome. I also enjoyed the small chemistry between Rekka and Kagome in how they respect each other in their strengths. The highlight of this episode (at least for me) would have to be the battle between Zero and Edel while riding Ginga and the Madou Dragon, it was so well animated that it didn’t bother me that it was all CG. I am sad that they killed of Kagome so soon, especially since we just got to know her in the previous episode, I feel bad cause her actress Yuria Haga (for the most part) tend to portray characters that get killed off. If there’s one issue I have, it’s that they always tell Alice to get out of there and she doesn’t even go that far and makes it easier for Edel to try and get her, the first two attempts were mildly annoying while the third time made a little more sense, given that the battle between Zero and Edel was all over the place that they ended up catching up to her. Other than that, I still enjoyed this episode and I’m interested in what they might pull next. Can’t wait for the next episode, where we see a family getting their picture taken, a mysterious woman talks with a homeless man, Alice takes a pic of Rei and he battles the mysterious woman

Are Millennials Killing the Film Industry?
The short answer is no, depending on your viewpoint. Allow me to clarify, I am a millennial myself. I was born in 1994, and I’ve found that self-reflection is a fabulous form of therapy. It is obvious that the trends in movies have shifted toward the young generations as the years have passed. This is due to two simple facts: millennials are stepping into their careers, as well as product and demand. The turn that the film industry has taken has left me feeling fascinated. Who can deny the cinematic masterpiece that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Watching Tony Stark go from a self-righteous philanthropist to (SPOILERS) sacrificing himself to save the universe, it’s enough to make a grown man cry. Which, for the record, I did.
Now, there is no denying that there is a shortage of original stand-alone films; according to Brandon Katz (2018, para. 3) “Of the 10 highest-grossing films of 2017, nine of them were a part of established movie series.” That isn’t ideal for those that grew up chasing these fantastic films that are timeless and beautiful on their own. On the other hand, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Some stories need to be continued, perhaps Hollywood has simply cracked the code for what viewers want, Katz said it himself: “It’s not that studio executives don’t want to make original films, they are just simply responding to audience demand.” (2018, para. 18). Let’s be honest, who hasn’t reached the end of an amazing film like E.T. or District 9 and thought “I need to see what happens next! I hope they make a sequel!”
Sequels, even when demanded however, do not guarantee success or fulfilling your hopes: Stephen Snart says, “… Bridget Jones’s Baby; a sequel that was by all accounts a creative and commercial disappointment.” (2017, para.4). For me, I thought I wanted another Spider Man with Sam Raimi, but I was wrong. Oh, so very wrong. When Spider Man 3 happened, I was 13 years old. Even then, I could tell that movie was embarrassing. Some movies get sequels, and everyone simply pretends they didn’t even happen. (The Rage: Carrie 2, S. Darko, Grease 2, Mean Girls 2)
Now, Stephen Snart, proposes an interesting idea: “What if we viewed the Hollywood franchise era in which we live as an opportunity to reflect on the passage of time?” (2017, para. 2), and I certainly agree with him. The first time I watched The Rage: Carrie 2, I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, staying up far later than I should have been, and watching T.V. when this came on. As a child, I was terrified of this movie. Then, as I grew older and read the original Stephen King novel, I found a new appreciation for this attempt at taking an older idea and modernizing it. Referring to Bridget Jones’s Baby, Snart says, “In one of the film’s more enjoyable scenes, Bridget reconnects with her friends played by Shirley Henderson, Sally Phillips and Julian Rhind-Tutt at a funeral. You can sense the performers’ excitement revisiting these characters 15 years later. Which gives the viewer one of the film’s few joys – the approximation of reconnecting with friends several years down the line.” (2017, para. 4). Even I, a young millennial, can relate to those emotions, even though I’ve never seen either film. It’s something that is universal, and any generation can empathize with.
Movies are powerful, simply put, they are stories told through people on a screen. Yet, they can cause joy, laughter, tears, fear, and so on. They can even build bridges between generations. I remember the first time my dad took me to the movies: He hated going to movies with my siblings and myself, we would never sit still, and we would talk to the movies like they could hear us. Then, something amazing happened. The Phantom Menace, also known as, Star Wars Episode 1 hit the theaters and, for once in my life, excitement spread across his face at the idea of a movie with me! Now this was technically a prequel (a story or movie containing events that precede those of an existing work) but we both loved it! He was nostalgic and I discovered the fantastic sci-fi universe that was Star Wars. We were both excited for each other. A baby boomer and a millennial, sharing love for the same thing? Sounds like we could use some more of these movies.
Whether you’re a millennial, a baby boomer, gen x, or something in between: we all enjoy movies. So, if you think that the direction movie trends have gone is horrible, then yes, millennials are ruining the film industry. However, if you enjoy the world building, emotional storytelling, and thorough character development, then no, we aren’t. We are taking the past and building off what works.

Congratulations, J! You’ve been accepted for the role of DESDEMONA. Admin Rosey: There is something incredibly sweet and endearing about Desdemona -- but a quiet strength that preceeds everything she does. J, you laid the foundation so well in your application, her sincerity and kindness shines through, as well as a simplicity that is overlooked in a city like Verona. She wants to be challenged and wants to be better, and I think the plots you have planned for Delilah will help her grow in strides. I’m so incredibly excited for Delilah and everything that you promise!.Please read over the checklist and send in your blog within 24 hours.

IN CHARACTER
Character | Desdemona / Delilah Bello
What drew you to this character? | The first initial thing that got to me was how strong Delilah was. Not in terms, that the woman has never broke down in her bedroom alone, but the mere ability to get up when everyone and everything is fighting against her. Even the length of time she stayed with a man who continuously put her down and treated her badly is a strong show of character. The mere knowledge of who she is as a person is admirable. Frankly, she had every single right to speak on her husband’s betrayal, but she remained quiet and chose to show them rather than fall into the tirade of revenge and anger. The ability to shrug things off and find a noble way to regain her character is impressive. She wants the truth to be out, but she won’t go against her own person and beliefs in order to ensure people believe her cause. Her determination to face each day with her head high is awe-worthy. Especially when she has every right to leave and return to a simple life as the war and bloodshed around her is a life she accepted with her marriage. I guess, all to say that I have a thing for strong women who aren’t outwardly cruel, but who can still bear the weight of the world and never let their knees buckle.
What is a future plot idea you have in mind for the character? | 1 ) I would absolutely love to have her confront her husband and defend her title. The mere admission from him would be a feat but give her a new sense of will to fight for her cause. Ultimately, it’s not something that she needs, but I believe she needs to hear it for herself. It doesn’t matter if he tells the world afterwards or if she’s the only person who hears those words from him. But the truth escaping his lips would be tremendous. Without that being said, I also believe it could be nice for someone to finally see through the rumours. To have someone finally admit that they believe her rather than hushed lies.
2) I’d love to see her toy with the temptation of perhaps switching sides. While her loyalty lies with her side, her kindness would force her to listen to the temptation of another being. Perhaps the kindness of a stranger and invisible manipulations would sway her to think about joining a cause that is not her own. I’d love that internal struggle for her and toying with the true temptation of being disloyal after trying to clear her name for so long to people who seem far too capable of pushing her aside, but also realising that this move would only fawn the flames of their false beliefs.
3) I’d love for someone to get close to her in an attempt to get something on her. Whether the hidden agenda is personal or not, it would be interesting for her be approached by a person who either searched for information on the true events within her marriage, or even finding her the easiest link to get information on the Capulets. While many would know that her status has dropped given the latest circumstances and she is not often told any significant details for attacks — but could still be valuable in voicing the little information that trickles down to her. It would be interesting to see how she fends for herself in that situation.
4) I’d love, love, for her to be in a situation where she can truly prove herself and her loyalties. Perhaps it comes down to saving her ex-husbands life or taking a bullet for another person on her side. Perhaps to even be the person to pull off a stupendous move that puts her side to a rather significant advantage. While not always merciless like others, she is a woman of her word and will go the distance to prove her loyalties to the individuals who blindly took the word of her ex-husband, I can see her going to length in order to make a move that is for the greater good of her side. The residual emotions that would come to linger afterwards could be interesting as well!
Are you comfortable with killing off your character? | The dramatic side of me says yes because of the advancement and drama, but my heart says no because I already love her. However, I would be up to discussing and could certainly be swayed. Everyone loves a good death, including myself!
IN DEPTH
Please choose between the interview or the para sample (or both, if you like!)
In-Character Interview: The following questions must be answered in-character, and in para form (quotations, actions written out if applicable, etc). There is no minimum or maximum limit for your response - simply answer as you would if you were playing the character.
What is your favorite place in Verona?
“There isn’t a part of the city that I don’t dislike within Verona. However, I’ve come to long for the places that are forbidden to me. I’ve always been curious and yearned for what was out of my reach. Particularly, the library.  The architecture fascinates me and the concept of not being able to touch many of the books within saddens me greatly, but I understand my position within this town and respect the boundaries established. However, within the bundle of buildings that I do have unfettered access to, I have to say that Phoenix and the Turtle café has to be my favorite one outside of my own abode. The mere tranquility that comes over me when I enter the warm room filled with soft chatter often serves as a sanctuary. Their coffee is exceptional as well. If you ever do go, please have their mille-feuilles.” The brunette said with a soft smile as she bit her lower lip and decided that perhaps she would spoil herself with a latte and baked good after this string of questioning. “However, as beautiful as all the buildings are within Verona, I have to admit that they could never compare to the comfort of my own home.” She chimed then, allowing a small chuckle to grace her lips. After having moved out from the home she shared with her ex-husband, the woman had searched high and low for an apartment that would comply with her needs. High windows, a lot of air circulation, a large open space – all of which she’d magicallyfound within her flat (albeit a bathtub which still saddened her). Nonetheless, the greenery she’d intricately placed within her apartment as well as her beloved pieces held a special je-ne-sais-quoi within her beloved home. “There’s never a place like home, is there?”
What does your typical day look like?
“Shockingly, I’m a morning person.” It had changed throughout the years, as she had come to find herself mesmerized with the darkness and silence that fell over a once chaotic town. Now, she could barely stay in bed after seven am. While she would like to take pride in her self-control, she knew that it held no part of the reason why she was forced from the comfort of her bed so early. “I tend to spend the day with my dog. He’s a pitbull and german mix. The neediest thing you’ve ever met and he quite enjoys waking me up early.” She mentioned with a small smile, one that easily slid across her features when she was reminded of her dog. He had been a saving grace after the fall of her marriage. One never mentioned how painful returning home to an empty house could be, no matter how horrendous a marriage had come to unfold. Though the loneliness had long settled into her bones before her husband had even made his final departure, she couldn’t bare the painful emptiness within her abode. Noshi had illuminated her life and always served to brighten up her days. A mere reminder and reason to return home and keep going on the hardest of days. “I walk my dog, and work around my home. Well, on the days that I don’t find myself being pulled into work.” A humourless laugh almost bubbled in her throat at the mention of work. Her status within the Capulets had significantly fallen since her husbands’ dismissal and false claims. Therefore, the days where she remained at home were far more numerous than the ones where she was sent on missions for the Capulet.
What has been your biggest mistake thus far?
Delilah paused shortly to mull over the question. She could give multiple answers that would satiate some of their thirst. However, their expected looks indicated that none would be sufficient. They had made up their minds on the answers they wanted to hear. In fact, she was certain that even if she did not speak on the subject of her alleged affair, they had already convicted her guilty. She had heard the mumbles of those who did not dare face her and listened to those who did. Nonetheless, she was not one to let herself be forced into a false admission. Nor would she give them any further material to twist and convert to appease the stories they had already taken as truth. “I believe we all make mistakes. It’s the human nature, isn’t it?” A grin forms on her lips but its rather evident that it was not summoned by anything that was said aloud, rather her own thoughts. “It’s almost the most personal question one can ask – to know what keeps another human up at night. A weakness of sorts.” Her head tilted then and her form straightened before dark hues flicked from the space it had settled upon the ground and onto the individual who had asked her the question.
“I didn’t drink as many as I wanted on my wedding night.”
A silly admission to others, but it had been the first of many ways the woman had plied and tempered herself for the sake of another being. She had counted her drinks and downed water all to ensure that she’d be able to care for her husband who had no qualms about enjoying his night to the fullest.
What has been the most difficult task asked of you?
“In my life, I’ve done many things for the sake of others.” The woman began as her mind circled back to her childhood. As a lone child of two overbearing parents, the little girl had been quite aware of her parents love and protective nature compared to others. How other children were left to their devices to play and explore their surroundings while she was often akin to nestle between both parents on a couch most nights. “It begun when I was a child. While children experienced many events that one yearns for while growing up, I sacrificed them in order to appease my parent’s protective nature.” Her brow perked momentarily as she allowed a shoulder to rise and fall tentatively. “It’s been in my nature to put others first, even if it means having to sacrifice my own happiness and desires. I believe that to be the most difficult but selfless task asked of any individual.” Without lifting dark hues to meet the others, she let her thoughts wander towards her failed marriage. She’d sacrificed herself in that aspect as well, and still to this day. Her image had been shattered for the sake of her ex-husband’s ego. However, the kindness that had long since nestled into her heart refused to fight in turn. One day they would find out the truth— and she would not have to bring herself down to her ex-husband’s level in order to do so. The truth was, though he had taken both her pride and future away, she still forgave him. Her parents had thought her that the hardest skill one could own was the ability to forgive in the face of pure cruelty. However, the poignant pain in her chest still remained when her thoughts inevitably returned to her parents whom she had attempted to rekindle a relationship with after the divorce.
What are your thoughts on the war between the Capulets and the Montagues?
“That is quite the question,” the woman mulled momentarily before a mere sigh parted her lips. “I believe it’s known that this has never been my war.” At the time, her heart had only known kindness but for a man that she adored, she had jumped into a foreign fight head first. The taste of blood and hatred that exuded off of her patrons was one she’d gotten accustomed to. Mere flinches had stopped to cross her features at the sound of gun shots, but while many walked around boasting about a recent victory – she could not find the same enthusiasm. “I believe there was once a good cause for this war, but it seems it may have gotten muddle throughout the years. We fight for revenge but it will never end until we’ve all fallen.” As her form readjusted itself within the seat, she folded her hands over her left knee. “Nonetheless, I’ve long since chosen my side and will fight until that moment comes.” While this war was not hers to fight for, there were other fights she needed to win. The first and only being for herself: to prove that her loyalties were her own. Eventually, her determination would serve as lenses for those who had doubted her. They would realize that her words were the only truth. One day, she would come to win her own war and relish the sight of inner-guilt of those who dared point a finger at her. This was the only victory she believed in.
As silence filled the room and the interview came to an end, a fragile smile framed her soft features. “I wish you all the best for today.”
As she collected her jacket, the woman rose from her chair and made way towards the door.

( self para. mal. 003/part 1.)
who: mal, and the people she met in her first year of auradon.  what: mal arrived in auradon january 2016, and was only in arcadia uni for about two weeks before she went to auroria and got into deep shit. mostly informative? there are two ‘prose’ parts (about her employer, and her friend). when: for this part, january-early march 2016. where: arcadia uni for 2 weeks, and then auroria for the rest.
+ notes/recap at the end.
Tumblr media
Mal arrived at Auradon on a Monday morning in January last year. She was the first of her siblings to leave their family and settle in Auradon. She had with her a heavy backpack of valuable trinkets, gold, and jewels (these were for pawn shops, to trade for money).
Monday afternoon, she took forms from Arcadia University and had a tour of the place. She promised the tour guide, the daughter of Rasputin, that she would sign the forms after the tour was complete (she did not).
Monday night, she slept in the forest and performed the magic to hide her wings. It was a painful process, and her first large feat of magic. It caused her fatigue for nearly two days.
Wednesday afternoon, she went out to town and visited each pawn shop, buying herself supplies and saving enough money for future plans. She bought gloves to handle the new phone she got (having a piece of metal with her all the time was going to be difficult). She also bought a wooden cane, to help her walk (adjusting to her different weight, sans wings, would take a while).
Two weeks later, she made plans to go to Auroria. The goal was to join the Fox Court.
She had heard about the Fox Court from other students in Arcadia University, those who had come from the south region of Auradon. The Fox Court was a small operation based in Auroria which gave good money for odd jobs, and opportunities for higher positions in the group. When the students talked about it, they would mention people they know who had joined the group. Mal never heard if they were able to get out. But if there was a promise of money and reputation, she needed to see.
Mal understood Auradon as a place that was only fair if you were royalty, if you had a good, clean name, or if you had money. Since she didn’t have the first two, she knew she had to rely on the last. Her plan was to get enough of her own money, to run her own sort of business that would protect others who struggled with their own reputation and their own names. People who deserved a second-chance, but didn’t trust Auradonians or had already been blatantly refused by them.
A month after she arrived, Mal dyed her hair purple. And she introduced herself to the Fox Court as Mal Bertha, the child of a minion from the Isle. As they were in Auroria, she was wary of revealing her parentage. Queen Aurora’s sympathy to Maleficent and her family was a liability.
Other new recruits was a zombie from the Land of the Dead (based in Auradon), by the name of Plum, and another child from the Isle, who had been the son of a pirate, named Calico. Calico was a few years older than Mal, and the two did not recognise each other.
And, though not a new recruit, Hank Thompson was also there.
The leader of the operation was a young man named Harcourt. Rumour had it that Harcourt’s father had exiled him from the family operation, which had led Harcourt to attempt his own.
As new members, Mal began as a look-out and scout while Plum and Calico were used as muscle. Plum, especially, being a zombie, was used as the human-shield, pushed into a room of armed men to tire them out before the rest of the group would come in. Calico and the others were used to steal the money and to hurt the men. They would always leave people battered and bruised. Brutality was the Fox Court’s calling card.
And despite having to stitch himself back together all the time (secretly with Mal’s magic), Plum was the highest paid of the three. Next was Calico, equally paid along with the others who had to fight. Mal was paid last.
Seen as expendable, the Fox Court made the trio target the more dangerous of the operations, namely the gambling dens, loansharks, and moving transports. Harcourt explained that, as two Isle kids and a monster, they had to be the ‘strongest’ of all of them.
            February, 2016.
“You have something in you these guys don’t,” he said, pouring whiskey into a glass. He slid it across the desk to Mal. Plum and Calico had already had their talks with Harcourt. Mal only glanced once at the glass, her expression indifferent.
The roots of her hair were showing black again.
“You had to grow a toughness, didn’t you?” Harcourt smiled. He pushed forward the glass again and Mal ignored it once more. “It’s no secret the Isle’s no walk in the park.”
“And Plum?”
“What about him?”
She frowned. “What makes him special?”
Harcourt chuckled. “Mal, honestly, get that look off your face, you make it look like I’m interrogating you or something.”
“If that’s not what you’re doing, then what else?”
He got up from his chair and walked around to sit on the seat next to her, propping up his elbow on the armrest and leaning his cheek against his hand. “Just…trying to compliment you. You three. And you ask what makes Plum so special. Well, aside from the fact that you can shoot thirty rounds on him and he won’t feel a thing…you still grow something tough if you’re a little different from everyone else. People see him as a monster. I see how the other guys are,” he glanced at the windows of his office. “They’re scared of him. They let him walk into the den first because they know he’ll come out alive. Well, by alive, I mean --”
"He’s only doing that because you told him to.”
“Always switched on, aren’t you? That’s what I love about you.”
“I’m flattered.”
“Tell you what. You want a bigger role? I’ll give you a bigger role. And a big raise, too.”
She furrowed her eyes. “…I don’t know what other role you expect of me. I can’t do what the guys do, you already have a human battering ram with Hank.”
“We’ll think of something. Can’t have my favourite girl sitting on the bench all the time.”
Mal did not like being Harcourt’s ‘favourite girl’. Over the first two months of her working with the Fox Court, she had seen what happened to the members he chose as his ‘favourites’. One disappointing job, and no one would hear from them again. Even worse were the magic-users and extra-normal members that seemed to come and go from the Fox Court.
She and Plum were the ones who lasted the longest, even though she had not yet revealed herself as capable of doing magic. Only Plum knew. Mal used her magic to close up bullet-holes or stick his arm back in its socket, which everyone else pinned to him being a magical zombie.
The others liked using Plum as their entertainment: the guy who could drink a hundred beers and feel nothing, the guy who could be set on fire and feel nothing, the guy they could leave alone and feel nothing.
Calico didn’t bother with the others. He would sit with Mal and Plum wherever they went, but didn’t engage in much conversation. He wouldn’t bully Plum, but he didn’t stop anyone either. The bullies were the ones higher up in rank in the Fox Court. Calico understood that the wrong move or the wrong look could send him packing. And given that he knew so much about the operation already, anyone ‘sent packing’ didn’t leave in the same state they arrived.
It didn’t help that Plum wanted to be among those in the higher ranks. He invited himself to trips to the bar, and volunteered for as many jobs as possible.
            Early March, 2016.
Mal focused her magic on the burnt skin of Plum’s arm, watching the skin grow back to its normal, cold, blue-toned state. She was going slow for her own sake, already feeling a migraine coming on, but she kept herself focused. There was already a scarf over her nose to guard from the smell, but the sight was still horrifying. Her hair was tied back. She had re-dyed it purple.
“It’s brighter,” Plum noted, glancing at her hair.
She scoffed. “It’s the wrong shade.”
“I like it.”
“If I hurry this up, are you going to stop talking?”
Plum fell silent, but his lips twitched like he was itching to say something. When she had finished the first arm, he spoke up again. “Are you still mad at me?”
Mal frowned, picking up his other arm, the gold glow in her hands again as she began to heal him. “For doing the Clemenza job? Yes.”
“You know, that was triple the pay than last time. At this rate, we’ll have enough money to book two rooms at that resort in Arendelle we saw on TV. Just in time for your birthday.”
She kept her gaze down at his arm, but her expression darkened. “If you’re doing this for my stupid birthday –”
“Okay, not your birthday, something sooner – when are your siblings coming?”
“I told you about my family so we wouldn’t talk about them again.”
“But I know little sisters. And if I had a little sister, I know she’d love something sparkly for when she gets here. To show her the true wonder of Auradon.”
“A sparkly thing for my sister isn’t worth you almost burning to a crisp.”
“But I didn’t feel anything –”
Her head snapped up and her eyes were glowing bright-green. “That’s not the point. You can’t keep doing this to yourself.”
Plum’s brow creased and he slipped his arm out of Mal’s grasp. “I can’t keep doing this to myself? What about you? Harry’s favourite girl? If you can’t think of something quick, you know he’s going to kick you out. And you can forget about me taking care of myself if that happens.” He paused, lowering his head to gather himself before he spoke again. Mal had already stood up, sitting on her cot on the other side of the room. Plum looked down at the remaining burns on his arm. “...Calico’s great, but his stories aren’t as good as yours. I just can’t think of what else you could do. That’s what I hate.”
“We already know what I won’t do. I’m not going to be the one to pick up marks in bars. I’m not going to hurt people when I have no reason to–”
“Oh, that’s right. ‘Cause all your sadistic urges are satisfied when you cause pain for a good reason.”
“Shut up.”
“Mal. You’re great. But having a good eye isn’t gonna be enough to make you stay. I do what I do to make sure I stick around. Just remember the goals.” He lay down on his cot, staring up at the ceiling. “When you’ve got your operation going, be sure to give me a job, okay?”
She took a few seconds to respond, by which time Plum had already turned away from her to face the wall. Mal gave a defeated sigh. “Our goals. And, yeah. You’ll be the bartender at the club.” She heard him snigger, and she rolled her eyes, reciting the dream the two of them had memorised: “Plum the Bartender, Cal the Bouncer, Hank the Tank…”
“And Mal the Fairy Godmother.”
 NOTES/RECAP
rip i’ve been wanting to write this for a while, bc i’m always changing my mind at exactly how mal got her start.
previously established things:
she started ‘blacktower’ when the rp started so that’s like mid-september, and she began planning for the club at the start of this year.
she did research and preparations for the club and the operation way before that.
blacktower’s operations started before the club even opened (presumably this year too).
she got money somehow (in my head i’m like ‘she probably just stole a bunch of money’ but like nah fam lets make it dramatic and emo bc i live for this)
she met hank in auroria.
RECAP AND RANTING SORTA:
mal doesn’t waste time!! girl knows what she wants and has a very clear vision for it (which is presenting a problem right now in the present bc she’s sorta achieved her first goals and now she’s like what do)
she straight up performed a huge and painful feat of magic (hiding her wings) her first day here and the consequence was basically exhaustion for two days.
SHE CALLED HERSELF ‘MAL BERTHA’ AND DYED HER HAIR PURPLE to protect her identity and also i guess so she could have a bit of fun with a different persona (and also bc i live for shout-outs to the original mal)
in auroria, she began working for a tiny gang called the FOX COURT, which is basically just the worst type of youths doing whatever they can to get money and having no problem inflicting pain to do it
fox court members: harcourt (asshole leader), plum (cinnamon roll zombie), and calico (emo son). ALSO HANK IS HERE.
mal has a problem inflicting pain unless she has a good reason. which isn’t to say she hasn’t inflicted pain at all. she’s made a lot of mistakes in the past. part of her whole ‘being stoic’ thing here is so that she doesn’t want to make mistakes. she doesn’t want to make friends and then ruin it somehow, like she did with UMA and others on the isle.
mal’s main job with the fox court was as ‘scout’ (she had to check out places before the rest of the team went, count the guards, the security cameras, stakeout the place basically) and ‘look-out’ (she would stay outside and warn them if anyone was coming, especially the police).
her friend was plum who is a kid from the land of the dead and meant to be mrs plum’s son. so he’s a dead boy who had nowhere else to go and was basically roped into the fox court by people, and he allowed himself to be used by people so that he would be allowed to stay.
plum was the only person she spoke about her goals to, and the one she told her identity to. they had both decided that hank and calico could be trusted (though never talked with them about the goals).
the goals: to get enough money to leave, to spend mal’s december birthday in the arendelle resort, and to start their club and own organisation. they both agreed that they would only do enough dirty work to make money, but they would focus on helping out isle kids and the ‘different’ kids (whether that be because they were undead, looked different, or for any other reason).
mal is harcourt’s ‘favourite girl’ which is...not good. but nothing’s happened yet, and mal is ready to kill a bitch if he wasn’t her employer.
harcourt had given mal an ultimatum: she had to step up and do more work, or be asked to leave. and being asked to leave wasn’t just a simple ‘goodbye’ either (people who leave are usually left injured in some way, or their families/close friends are threatened).
plum jokes that mal is the ‘fairy godmother’ because of what she had said about aurora once believing maleficent was her fairy godmother. he also points out that any magic she’s used so far has been good. mal doesn’t like it when he points that out.
ALSO SHE’S ??? 17 YEARS OLD IN THIS SELF-PARA. i figured out her birthday, it’s gonna be december 20 so she’ll be turning 19 now.
SO THE NEXT PART SHOULD BE UP SOON. IDK WHEN BUT SOON. IF ANYTHING’S CONFUSING PLS HMU this doesn’t really ??? affect any current plots (maybe) but i like exploring bACKGROUNDS SO YE
